STROGANOFF BAKE | |
6 slices bacon, cooked 2 lbs. veal, cut lg. bite size pieces 2 lg. yellow onions, chopped 1 lg. can mushrooms 2 cartons sour cream 1 c. white cooking wine 1 c. raw white rice Set cooked bacon aside and brown veal in bacon grease. Remove from pan. Brown onions in pan. Slice mushrooms. Combine veal, onions, and mushrooms; add the sour cream mixed with wine. Cover and cook slowly on top of stove for 2 hours. Stir occasionally. Broil rice; drain and combine with above mixture in layers. Crumble the cooked bacon on top and bake one hour at 350 degrees. Do not cover. Serves 6-8. |
