ELSIE EATON'S CABBAGE 
1 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. bacon, chopped
1 sm. onion, chopped
1 lb. shredded cabbage
1/4 pt. chicken stock
1 lg. apple, peeled & sliced
3 tsp. flour
Nutmeg, salt & pepper

Melt butter. Fry bacon and onion. Added shredded cabbage and stir. Pour in stock. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 3 minutes. Add apple. Cook for further 3 minutes. Sprinkle flour into pan and stir until mixture thickens. Add nutmeg. Serve at once.
