1 lb. Italian sausage 2 tbsp. parsley flakes 4 cans tomato paste 2 tbsp. basil 1 lb. extra lean ground beef 2 cans Italian stewed tomatoes 2 cloves garlic 20 oz. lasagne noodles CHEESE MIX: 6 c. large curd cottage cheese 2 tbsp. parsley flakes 1 tsp. pepper 1 c. grated Parmesan 4 eggs 2 lbs. Mozzarella sliced very thin Brown meat and spoon off fat, add the meat sauce ingredients and simmer for 30 minutes. Cook noodles until tender, about 20 minutes. Combine rest of ingredients except Mozzarella to make cheese mix. Place layer of noodles in bottom of 2 (9 x 13 inch) pans. Spread with half of cheese mix, then cover with a layer of Mozzarella and meat sauce. Repeat layers in each pan. Bake at 375 degrees for at least 30 minutes until bubbles in middle of pan and cheese is melted. Let set 15 to 30 minutes before serving. |
