JAM SQUARES 
2 c. Quaker Oats, uncooked, quick or old-fashioned
1 3/4 c. flour
1 c. butter
1 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 c. preserves

Combine all ingredients, except preserves in a large bowl. Beat at low speed until mixture is crumbly. Reserve 2 cups mixture; press remaining onto bottom of greased 13 x 9 inch pan. Spread preserves evenly over base. Sprinkle with reserved mixture. Bake in preheated oven at 400 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool, cut into squares. Makes 13 x 9 inch pan of squares.
