4 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/4 lb. fruit flavored gum drops, cut in pieces
1 lb. white raisins
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. butter
1 3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. hot water
1 1/2 c. applesauce
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix first 5 ingredients together and set aside. Add the gum drops, nuts and raisins to half the flour mixture. Cream butter, sugar and eggs. Add the floured mixture alternately, with the soda that has been dissolved in the hot water and the applesauce. Add vanilla and the rest of the nuts and gum drops mixture. Pour into 6 small loaf pans well greased and floured. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour.
