PECAN CRISPIES 
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. butter
2 1/2 c. brown sugar
2 1/2 c. flour
2 eggs, beaten
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. chopped pecans

Oven at 350 degrees. Mix softened butter, shortening, sugar and eggs well - add dry ingredients and pecans. Spoon out on cookie sheet or roll a small ball in hand and mash down with a fork and put a whole pecan on top. Bake about 15-20 minutes until brown.
