KRAUT AND MASHED POTATO BAKE 
POTATO MIXTURE:

3 c. mashed potatoes
1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
3 tbsp. minced onion
Salt & pepper to taste

Mix all together.

FILLING:

1 lb. sausage (lg. links or rings) or Kielbasa
2 c. undrained kraut
1 tbsp. flour
1 tbsp. bacon grease
3/4 tsp. caraway seed

Grease bottom and sides of 2 quart casserole dish. Spread potato mixture on sides and bottom of dish to form a crust. Slice up 1/2 of the sausage over the potatoes.

Mix in a cooking pan, kraut, bacon grease, caraway seed and flour. Heat up enough to thicken. Spoon out into casserole dish lined with potato mixture. Top with remaining sausage. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
