2 1/2 c. flour 1/4 lb. Crisco 1/4 lb. butter 1 tbsp. sugar 1/3 c. water 2 tbsp. milk 3 tbsp. baking powder 2 tsp. salt Mix flour, salt, sugar and baking powder together. Add shortening, mix thoroughly. Add water and milk until it becomes a soft dough. Knead lightly. Grease a baking sheet about 1 1/2 inches high. Flatten dough to fit baking pan and bake until browned. Cut across and butter both sides while hot. Can be made into balls (flattened) until 1/4 inch thick and fried in hot oil until browned. |
