EXTRA GOOD MERINGUE 
1 tbsp. cornstarch
6 tbsp. sugar
1/2 c. water
3 egg whites

In 2 cup glass measure, combine sugar, cornstarch and water. Microwave on high 1 or 2 minutes until clear. Cool slightly. Beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Pour in cooked syrup, a little at a time, until well blended. Continue beating on medium for 8 minutes. Pour mixture onto hot pie. Seal around edges. Microwave on high 3 to 4 minutes. Rotating pie 1/4 turn every 45 seconds or bake in conventional oven at 400 degrees 3 to 5 minutes.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
