CONNECTICUT BEEF SUPPER 
2 lbs. beef (stewing or round steak), cut into 1-inch cubes
Salt and pepper
2 tbsp. butter or cooking oil
1 clove garlic, minced
3 good-size onions, sliced
1 (4 1/2 oz.) jar mushrooms, drained (save liquid)

Brown steak, salt and pepper, oil, garlic, and onions until onions are tender. Add water or wine to reserved liquid to make 1 cup liquid. Add to meat and heat to boiling, reduce heat and cover. Simmer until tender, 1 hour. Round steak takes 15 minutes. Pour meat into lightly greased 8x13 inch baking dish. 1 can cream of mushroom soup 3/4 c. half & half 3/4 c. sour cream 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper

Mix together. Sprinkle with 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese. Bake 1 hour uncovered at 350 degrees.
