GHIRARDELLI FROSTED CHOCOLATE
BROWNIES
 
1/3 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
4 sections (2 oz.) ghirardelli unsweetened baking chocolate
1/2 c. unsifted flour
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

By hand lightly cream butter with sugar. Mix in eggs, vanilla and salt. Stir in melted chocolate. Add flour, mixing until smooth. Then add nuts, spread into greased 8 or 9 inch square pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. For extra firm brownies use 8 inch pan or less baking time. For cake like brownies use 9 inch pan or longer baking time. Cool in pan. Frost with dark chocolate frosting.

No melting is necessary when using ghirardelli ground chocolate. to substitute for 10 ounce squares of baking chocolate, use 1/4 cup ground chocolate. Reduce sugar in the recipe by 2 tablespoons.
