1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 c. applesauce
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. raisins or nuts
2 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon

Mix sugar and shortening. Add egg and salt. Stir in applesauce, raisins or nuts. Sift dry ingredients and add to mixture. Drop by teaspoonsful on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
