CHERRY WEDDING COOKIE 
1 c. regular Crisco
1 c. powdered sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 c. chopped pecans

Cream together Crisco, sugar, egg and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients, add to liquid. Add nuts. Form small balls (size 1" diameter). Bake at 350 degrees on ungreased cookie sheet for 10 to 12 minutes.

ICING:

5 1/2 c. powdered sugar
8 oz. cream cheese
1 lg. jar maraschino cherries

Mix together cheese and 1/2 juice from cherries. Add sugar, 1 cup at a time. Mix well each time. Ice cookies after cooled. Top each with cherry piece. Makes 5 dozen. This is Steve's favorite cookie.
