GERMAN SLAW 
4 to 5 lbs. cabbage
1 lg. onion, sliced thin
1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. salt
2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. dry mustard
1 tsp. celery seed
1 c. vinegar
3/4 c. oil

Soak cabbage in cold water before shredding. Mix cabbage, onion slices and 1/2 cup sugar in large bowl. Mix salt, 2 teaspoons sugar, mustard, celery seed, vinegar and oil in saucepan. Boil 3 minutes and pour over cabbage, onions and sugar. Store in covered bowl overnight.
