MY MOM'S TOMATO SURPRISE CAKE 
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. Crisco
1 can tomato soup
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. raisins
1 c. chopped nuts
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. salt

Mix first 4 ingredients together until shortening is well mixed in. Sift all dry ingredients together. Add to soup mixture and beat well. Add the raisins and nuts. Put in a greased tube pan and bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes.

ICING:

1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 c. confectioners sugar
1/4 tsp. nutmeg

Mix together and frost cooled cake.
