PARTY PICKLES 
7 lb. cucumbers
2 gal. cold water
3 c. lime

Use old yellow cucumbers (big). Dissolve lime in water. Slice cucumbers in large rings. Put in jar with lime water. Let stand 24 hours. Take out and wash 2 or 3 times. Let stand 1 to 2 hours in ice water. Pout on top of ice.

Mix 1 1/2 quarts white vinegar, 4 1/2 pounds sugar and 1 tablespoon salt. Heat enough to melt sugar. Pour over cucumbers after draining ice water. Let stand overnight. Next morning, add 1/3 box pickling spice tied in a bag. Boil all this 35 minutes. Let simmer while filling jars. Fifteen minutes in water bath.
