MOLASSES SUGAR COOKIES | |
3/4 c. melted shortening 1 c. sugar 1/4 c. Brer rabbit molasses 1 egg 2 tsp. baking soda 2 c. all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. cloves 1/2 tsp. ginger 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. salt Melt shortening in a 3 or 4 quart saucepan over low heat. Remove and let cool. Add sugar, molasses and egg; beat well. Sift together remaining ingredients and add to first mixture. Mix well and chill. Form into 1 inch balls, roll in granulated sugar and place on greased cookie sheet 2 inches apart. Bake in moderate oven at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Watch as they burn easily. |
