RED VELVET CAKE | |
1 1/2 c. sugar 2 c. cooking oil 2 eggs 1 tsp. vinegar 2 oz. red food coloring 2 1/2 c. plain flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. cocoa 1 c. buttermilk 1 tsp. vanilla Cream sugar and oil, add eggs and beat well. Add vinegar and food coloring, beat well. Sift dry ingredients, add alternating with milk. Add vanilla, beat well. Pour into cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. RED VELVET FROSTING: 1 stick butter 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese 1 tsp. vanilla 1 box powdered sugar 1 c. chopped nuts Cream butter and cheese, add vanilla and sifted sugar, mix well. Add nuts, spread on cake. |
