RED VELVET POUND CAKE 
3 c. sugar
1/2 c. Crisco
1/2 lb. butter
5 eggs
1/2 c. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
Pinch salt
1 oz. bottle red food coloring
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3 c. sifted flour
1 c. milk

Cream sugar, Crisco and butter. Add eggs, one at a time. Add cocoa, vanilla and coloring. Sift dry ingredients together. Beat in 1/2 of milk and 1/2 flour mixture. Beat well and add remaining flour and milk. Bake in tube pan 1 hour in 350 degree oven.

ICING:

1 stick butter
1 box confectioners' sugar
1 (8 oz.) cream cheese
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. coconut

Mix above ingredients and spread over cooled cake.
