FRIED GREEN TOMATOES 
Use large green tomatoes. Slice each about 1/8 inch thick. Let stand in cold salt water for 15 minutes. (Use 1 quart water to 1 tablespoon salt). Roll the slices in flour and fry to golden brown in boiling oil. Take up and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
