CHOCOLATE VELVET PIE (From

1 9" unbaked single pie shell
2 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate
1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
2 eggs, well beaten
1 c. water
2 tsp. vanilla
Whipped cream

Bake crust in 400 degree oven for 15 minutes. Meanwhile in heavy saucepan, over low heat, melt chocolate with condensed milk. Remove from heat. Stir in eggs. Add water and vanilla; mix well. Pour into hot pie crust. Bake 10 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 300 degrees. Bake 20 minutes or until center is set. Cool. Chill thoroughly. Top with whipped cream and garnish if desired. Refrigerate leftovers.

This was delicious. Used a graham cracker crust but other than that followed the recipe exactly. My husband ate half the pie in one night! The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is this took far longer than 20 min. to bake. Maybe because we are at high altitude? Took about 50 min. To completely set. I will make this again!
