MACARONI, TOMATO, CHEESE
CASSEROLE
 
1/2 lb. macaroni
1/4 lb. butter
1 1/2 c. onion, sliced in rings
2 tbsp. finely chopped green pepper
3 1/2 c. canned tomatoes
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 c. grated cheese
1/2 c. bread crumbs

Cook, rinse and drain macaroni. Melt butter in skillet. Add onions and green pepper and fry until nearly tender. Then add canned tomatoes and seasonings. Simmer for 5 minutes. Add macaroni and blend. Place mixture in buttered 3 quart casserole in alternate layers with grated cheese. Sprinkle with crumbs. Bake in moderately hot (400 degrees) oven for 20 minutes or until cheese is melted. Serves 6 to 8.
