NUT COOKIE CRUST 
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/4 tsp. baking soda

Mix butter and brown sugar in a large bowl. Stir in remaining ingredients just until crumbly. Press mixture against bottom and sides of ungreased pie pan.

This is a good crust for pumpkin or sweet potato pie. Bake according to pie recipe used.
