BANANA CAKE 
1/2 c. sweet milk

Sift:

1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Mash:

1 c. ripe bananas & mix with
1 tsp. baking soda

Beat together:

2 eggs, well beaten
1 c. white sugar
1/2 c. soft shortening

Add banana mixture to beaten mixture and stir. Add milk alternately with the flour mixture. Bake in floured and oiled 9 x 13 pan. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. (If it springs back when touched on top it's done.) Top with Penuche Frosting.

PENUCHE FROSTING:

1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. water
2 tbsp. butter
Powdered sugar
Chopped nuts

Mix brown sugar with water. Boil 2 minutes. Add butter and melt. Spread on cake. Cool. Sprinkle powdered sugar on and top with nuts.
