BRUNSWICK STEW | |
5 lbs. potatoes 6 or 7 cans tomatoes 5 can butter beans 2 fryers 5 lbs. onions 4 pt. corn 2 lbs. hamburger 4 lbs. pork roast Boil fryers and tear off bone in small pieces. Cut up pork in small cubes. Crumble hamburger. Put all meat in a large pot. Add enough water to cover it. Cook for about 2 hours. Cut up potatoes and onions in small pieces. Add to meat. Cook 1 1/2 hours more. Then add tomatoes and cook 1 1/2 hours. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add corn, butter beans. Add 2 quarts of string beans and 2 pounds carrots, if desired. Cook until thick. It should cook 6 or 7 hours in all. This makes about 10 quarts and it freezes well. |
