1 c. Crisco
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. light brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1-3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2/3 c. oatmeal (quick cooking)
1 c. nuts, chopped (optional)
1 pkg. (6 oz.) chocolate chips

Cream together the Crisco, white sugar and brown sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Sift together and add the flour, salt and soda. Add to the creamed mixture the oatmeal, nuts and chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto lightly greased baking sheet.

Bake at 350°F for 12 to 15 minutes.
