APRICOT SQUARES 
Sift together:

1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Add:

1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. oatmeal (dry-quick)
1 c. nuts, chopped

3/4 c. butter, melted -- add and blend in.

Press 1/2 of mixture in well greased 9x13 inch pyrex.

1 jar Smuckers apricot jam

Spread on top (not touching sides of pyrex). Cover with remaining 1/2 of mixture (press down lightly). Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool. Cut into squares.
