FRESH PEACH CAKE 
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 egg
1 cup milk
1/4 tsp. almond flavoring
fresh peach halves or canned peaches, well drained
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Sift flour, sugar and baking powder. Cut in butter. Add egg and milk which have been mixed together. Add flavoring. Beat mixture thoroughly.

Pour into a well-greased oblong pan and cover with fresh peeled peach halves. Sprinkle with brown sugar mixed with cinnamon over peach halves.

Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.
