HOT DOG BEAN SOUP 
16 oz. pkg. Great Northern beans
2 qts. of water
1 1/2 c. diced carrots
1 1/2 c. diced celery
1 c. chopped onion
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. flour
1 c. chicken broth
1 lb. wieners, sliced

Soak beans over night. Drain. Place beans, 2 quarts water, carrots, celery, onions, salt, pepper, and garlic powder in deep pot. Bring to boil reduce heat and simmer. Remove 1/2 cup bean mixture and place in small bowl. Mash well. In small saucepan melt butter. Stir in flour and cook stirring until smooth and bubbly. Add chicken broth and blend well. Add mashed beans, mix well, stir into soup. Add wieners, cook stirring occasionally until thoroughly heated. Makes 8 1 1/2 cup servings.
