HOT DOG BEAN SOUP 
1 lb. great northern beans
2 qt. water
1 1/2 c. diced celery
1 1/2 c. diced carrots
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. flour
1 c. chopped onions
1 tsp. salt
1 c. chicken broth
1 lb. Oscar Mayer all beef franks, sliced

Soak beans as directed on package. Place beans, water, carrots, celery, onions, salt, pepper and garlic powder in large, deep pot. Stir well. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer, uncovered 2 hours or until beans are done. Remove 1/2 cup bean mixture and mash well. In small saucepan, melt butter, stir in flour and cook, stirring constantly until smooth and bubbly. Gradually add chicken broth, blend well. Stir into soup and add wieners and cook, stirring occasionally until thoroughly heated. Makes 8 (1 1/2 cup) servings.
