CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
1 c. shortening (butter Crisco)
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. oil
4 c. flour
3 tsp. cream of tartar
2 eggs

Cream together shortening, oil and sugars. Beat eggs and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add to shortening-sugar mixture. Add dry ingredients sifted together. Mix well. Add chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10 minutes at 350 degrees.
