MOM'S STRAWBERRY BREAD 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. almond extract
2 eggs, separated
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. fresh strawberries, crushed

Cream butter, sugar and almond extract. Beat in egg yolks one at a time. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add alternately with strawberries, then fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Line loaf pan with greased, waxed paper. Pour batter in pan and bake in a 325 degree oven for 50 minutes to 1 hour. Cool 15 minutes before removing from pan.
