APPLE DUMPLINGS 
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. Crisco
4 1/2 tbsp. water

Mix flour, Crisco, and water into pie crust. Roll out and cut into 6 squares. Fill squares with apples, sugar, cinnamon, and butter. Fold dough up around apples and prick dough. Make syrup and pour over dumplings.

SYRUP:

1 c. water
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Heat until all dissolved. Pour over dumplings. Bake in 400 degree oven for 35 to 40 minutes. Serve with ice cream or pour milk over dumplings.
