SPICY CLAM SPAGHETTI SAUCE
2 10-oz cans whole baby clams
1 can Sloppy Joe Sauce
1/2 medium onion, chopped
2 medium cloves garlic, minced
3 TBSP Spaghetti Sauce Seasoning (Spice Island)
4 TBSP any thick hot salsa
2 TBSP bacon drippings
3 Tsp bottled Clam Juice (not drained from can)

Rinse and drain clams. Mix together Sloppy Joe sauce, hot salsa, and spaghetti sauce seasoning in a medium sized bowl. Sauté onions in bacon drippings or oil over medium heat until soft. Reduce heat and add minced garlic, baby clams, and clam juice. Sauté until well heated and garlic is soft but not browned.

Pour Sloppy Joe and clam mixture over onions, garlic and clams, and stir well. Simmer until hot. Sauce will thicken.

Serve with pasta, or for lower carbs use spaghetti squash.

Just FYI, I concocted this recipe from things that were given to me -- things that my family doesn't like very well individually, and that I usually don't buy -- we are out of work and struggling. But ... they loved this spaghetti recipe with spaghetti squash, also given to us. I make my own salsa, and had all the seasonings, so it was a very inexpensive meal for us. Thought others who are in similar circumstances might enjoy it. :)
