2/3 c. shortening
2/3 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
Nutmeg to taste

Work shortening until fluffy and creamy. Add sugar gradually while continuing to work with a spoon until light. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix. Add dry ingredients, mix. Chill dough. Roll out dough to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut. Bake at 375 degrees 8-10 minutes. May frost--are great plain.
