CHEESE SAUSAGE BISCUITS 
1 lb. mild sausage, fried, crumbled, drained
2 c. grated Cheddar cheese
4 c. self-rising flour
1/2 c. shortening
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. buttermilk

In large bowl, mix together sugar, flour and soda. Cut in shortening. Add buttermilk and stir to form soft ball. Add cheese and sausage and mix well. Turn out on floured board. Roll to 1/2 inch thickness and cut with any size cutter.

Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 450 degrees for 10-15 minutes. These freeze well. Bake 8-10 minutes before freezing, defrost and bake 10 more minutes.
