CRISP SWEET PICKLES 
Pour boiling water over cleaned cucumbers. Let stand overnight. In morning drain and put on fresh boiling water. Do this for 6 days. On 7th day add salt so water isn't flat. On 8th day, rinse cukes, cut into desired size chunks. Pack into clean jars.

Heat the following and pour over pickles while very hot. Seal. Jars. Process 10 minutes in hot water bath.

1 c. vinegar to 2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. turmeric powder
1/4 tsp. powdered alum
