STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE 
1/4 c. butter
3 tbsp. sugar
2 egg yolks
3/4 c. all purpose flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
Pinch of salt
1 pt. strawberries (reserve 4 strawberries for garnish), hulled and cut into halves
1/2 c. plum jelly
2 tsp. kirsh or water
1/2 c. whipping cream

Beat butter, sugar, and egg yolks in small mixer bowl at high speed until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; mix thoroughly into butter mixture. Pat dough evenly into greased 8 inch round cake pan. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven until light brown, about 15 minutes. Remove from pan; cool on wire rack 10 minutes.

Serves 4-6.
