PARTY BUTTER COOKIES 
1 c. (2 sticks) butter
1 c. sugar
2 egg yolks
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 egg whites, slightly beaten

Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy; blend in egg yolks and vanilla. Sift together flour and salt gradually and add to creamed mixture. Chill dough for ease in handling. Shape into balls 1 inch in diameter; dip in egg white, then roll in nuts. Place on buttered baking sheet. With finger make deep impression in center of each one. Bake 15 to 28 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove to wire rack to cool. Fill cooled cookies with tinted confectioners icing. Makes 4 to 5 dozen.

TINTED CONFECTIONERS ICING:

2 c. confectioners sugar
2 tbsp. butter, softened
1 tsp. vanilla
2 or 3 tbsp. hot water
Green food coloring or any color

In small mixing bowl, combine sugar, butter and vanilla. Gradually add water and beat until smooth and mixture holds shape slightly. Using teaspoon drop into center of cookies.
