FUNNY CAKES 
PART ONE:

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. cocoa
1 c. hot water
1 tsp. vanilla

PART TWO:

1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk

Mix ingredients in part one together and let cool.

Mix part two; mix sugar, butter and eggs. Sift dry ingredients together. Add milk alternately with dry ingredients. Mix well. Place this mixture into 2 pastry lined 8 inch pie pans. Pour first mixture on top of batter. (The cocoa mix will go to the bottom.) Bake at 400 degrees for 40-45 minutes. Serves 10.
