CHICKEN PAPRIKA 
1 (3 lb.) chicken, cut in pieces
1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. seasoning blend
1/2 tsp. ground thyme
1/4 tsp. coarsely ground black pepper
1/4 c. shortening
2 tbsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
2 c. HOT water
2 med. onions, sliced
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. milk

Wash chicken and pat dry. Combine flour, seasoning blend, thyme and pepper. Coat chicken pieces with flour mixture and brown in hot shortening. Combine paprika and garlic salt and sprinkle over chicken. Add hot water and simmer 30 minutes. Place onion rings on top of chicken and simmer 30 minutes longer.

Remove chicken to platter and pile onions on top. Blend flour and milk; add to liquid and cook and stir until thickened. Pour over chicken. Makes 4 servings.
