TOFFEE TREAT | |
2 c. sugar 1 c. butter 1/4 c. water 1 tsp. vanilla extract 3 c. semi-sweet chocolate morsels 2 c. finely chopped pecans, toasted Combine first three ingredients in 3 quart saucepan. Dissolve sugar by cooking over low heat. Cover and cook over medium heat 2 or 3 minutes. Uncover and cook to hard crack stage (300 degrees). Turn off heat and add vanilla. Pour quickly into greased jelly roll pan (15x10x1). Spread to edges of pan. Sprinkle 1/2 of chocolate morsels. Let stand 1 minute and spread. Sprinkle nuts and let cool until hard. Flip over and repeat using chocolate melted in microwave or double boiler. Sprinkle with nuts. Cool and break into pieces. |
