SOUR CREAM COOKIES 
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. sour cream
2 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2/3 c. chopped nuts

Mix well, shortening, eggs and brown sugar. Stir in sour cream, vanilla, soda, baking powder, salt and nuts. Chill for 1 hour. Drop by teaspoonful (or roll into balls) on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.

ICING:

4 tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. powdered sugar
1 or 2 tbsp. water

Melt butter to golden brown, mix in well powdered sugar and vanilla. Stir in water until smooth. Ice cookies.
