AUNT LILLIAN'S SOUR CREAM CAKE 
3 c. cake flour
1/2 lb. butter
3 c. sugar
6 eggs
1/2 pt. sour cream
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar, 1/4 cup at a time, and beat until light. Add the 6 eggs one at the time, then add the 1/2 pint sour cream. Add flour which has been sifted with the baking soda. Add vanilla. Beat 2 minutes. Pour into tube pan and bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Leave plain or icing with plain white icing.

PLAIN WHITE ICING:

2 c. sifted 4X sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 c. softened butter
2 tbsp. cream or milk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Measure all ingredients into small bowl and beat 3 minutes.
