SOUR CREAM DROP COOKIES 
1/4 c. butter or shortening
1/2 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 1/4 c. flour, sifted
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. thick sour cream

Blend butter or shortening, vanilla and brown sugar. Add 1 beaten egg. Sift together flour, salt, baking powder and soda. Add flour mixture to above alternately with 1/2 cup thick sour cream. Stuff 2 1/2 dozen dates with walnut halves. Drop stuffed dates in a batter about eight at a time, spoon out, one date to a cookie. Bake on greased cookie sheet. While still warm frost with Golden Icing.

GOLDEN ICING:

Heat over low heat until golden brown:

Stir in: 1/2 tsp. vanilla 2 tbsp. hot water

Bake about 10 minutes in 400 degree oven. Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
