BISCOTTI 
5 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 lg. eggs
2 tbsp. baking powder
1 c. shortening, butter or Crisco
1 tbsp. vanilla

Melt shortening. In large pot or bowl put sugar, baking powder and vanilla. Pour shortening in and mix. Add eggs, beat together after each egg. Add flour and mix well. Work the batter well with your hands. It shouldn't be dry or overly soft. Fill cookie press. Bake at 375-400 degrees. Cookies take a short time to cook, watch oven. Cookies should be very light on top when baked and golden on the bottom.
