CRUMB CAKE 
CAKE:

1 1/2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. shortening
1 egg, well beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. milk

CRUMBS:

3/4 lb. butter
3 c. sifted flour
1 - 1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 - 2 tbsp. cinnamon
Pinch salt

Melt butter in pan and let cool. Sift dry ingredients. Add shortening. Add egg, vanilla and milk. Put into a 13"x9"x2" greased and floured pan; set aside.

CRUMBS: Mix dry ingredients. Add butter, mix well with hands. Sprinkle crumbs onto top of cake. Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes or until done.

OPTIONAL: When cake is cooled, sprinkle confectioners' sugar (using sifter) onto top of cake.
