CRANBERRY CONSERVE 
1 lb. cranberries
1 c. water
2 c. diced, peeled apple
1 c. diced, peeled orange
1/2 c. seedless raisins
3 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Wash and pick over the fresh cranberries. Place in a saucepan with the water and cook until the skins burst. Add the diced apple, orange, raisins and sugar. Cook, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens, about 25 minutes. Add the nuts. Keep in a bowl in the refrigerator. Serve with hot or cold meats or breads.
