SWEET N' SOUR PORK | |
1 pkg. boneless pork loin pork chops, cubed (6 to 8) 1 sm. green bell pepper, cut approx. 1 inch sq. 1 sm. red bell pepper, cut approx. 1 inch sq. 1 sm. round (brown or white) onion, cut approx. 1 inch sq. 1 can chunk pineapple in heavy syrup, do not drain 1 pkg. NOH brand (at Vons) sweet n' sour mix or Sunbird in Oriental Section Brown pork, season with black pepper and garlic salt. Add 1 1/2 cups (approximate) water, cover, simmer until all water is gone and pork starts to brown again. Test a piece of pork to check tenderness. If still tough, add 1/2 to 1 cup water and cook until water is gone. Add vegetables, stir fry. Add sweet n' sour mix (according to directions = mix package with 1/2 cup water). Add pineapple. Cook until vegetables are tender. Thicken with cornstarch if necessary. Serve over steamed or fried rice. |
