DATE FILLED DROPPED COOKIES 
DOUGH:

1 c. butter
2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. sour milk (or milk with vinegar)
1 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt

Mix together butter, brown sugar, eggs, sour milk and vanilla. Sift together dry ingredients and add to creamed ingredients.

FILLING: Blend in pot and cook over medium heat until thickened: 3/4 c. sugar 1/2 c. water

Add:

Cool before putting on cookie dough. Put rounded teaspoon of dough on cookie sheet. Flatten slightly with fork dipped in water. Put about 1/2 teaspoonful of date filling on top and lay 1/2 teaspoon of dough on top. Do not flatten top. Bake in 400 degree oven for 10 or 12 minutes or until light brown. WATCH THEM.
